DUNEDIN HOMING PIGEON CLUB.

The above club held a race on Saturday last from St. Andrews, a distance of 101 miles airline. Ths birds had the fortune to get a. good day and a favourable wind, of which they took advantage, making a record velocity for the Season, the first bird flying the distance in lhr 40min and the next three birds coming very close, there being only two minutes between the first bird and th« fourth. Mr Hutchison gave judgment for the teacher and dismissed the information with £5 19s 6d coats. He said a master had a right to inflict rearonable punishment. The master had the best opportunity of deciding what was reasonable chastisement, and should be protected, unless it was clearly proved that the flogging was excessive.
