FROSTED PEARS

Stew several large pears in a syrup made of two cupfuls of sugar and a gill of water. When tender, take out and lay on a sieve in a warm oven to thoroughly draiD. Beat the white of an egg to a stiff froth, add 4oz of powdered sugai, a little lemon juice. Bear the mixture thoroughly until it is of a thick consistency. Cover the pears with this and set in a cool oven to stiffen.
