- Kaikoura, December 13. — The snow melted from Mount Fyfe early in the week, and the days have been gradually getting wanner. Mists hung about for a day or two, and, a light drizzle drenched the long grass on Wednesday morning, but it Boon dried, and the long-delayed shearing ism full awing again. Yesterday afternoon - was bo 'sultry that we feared a southerly buster, ■ - I>ut it did not come, and to-day was moderately warm. Obituary.— Mrs Bullen, who had ben ailing , f or sometime past,, died last Saturtfty, and tras buried last Monday, "One by. one the pioneers depart, One by one their. spirits soar away ; O, Poly Saviour, heal the human smart, O, Prince Divine, descend to reign for aye!" 14th. — A fog hangs over the fields this morning and the air is chilly, but the fog may soon lift and the day become sultry.
