ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET.
CHRISTCHURCH, November 19. At Addington to-day the usual sales were held. Fat Cattle.—l7l head ya-rded, nearly all good to prime quality. Best sorts were keenly competed for up to 36s pee 1001b. Others were easier at 28s to 30s. Prize bullocks realised £18 to £20; steers, £6 15s and £12 to £13 10s; heifers, £6 to £10 2s 6d; cows, £5 5s to £9 12s 6d. Fat Sheep.—7ooo penned, mostly shorn, and of good quality, especially the crossbred ewes. The market opened dull, but improved owing to competition for export. Shorn heavy wethers brought 23s 3d and 26s 3d to 33s 6d for show sheep; freezers, 18s 6d to 225; wethers (in wool), 18s 6d to 225; shorn freezers, 18s to 21s 6d; lighter, 14s 6d to 18s 6d; best woolly ewes, 16s to 20s 6d; shorn 14s 6d to 17s; butchers' soils, 12s to 14s. Fat Lambs.—7oo, mostly good quality, were penned, and competition was a little weaker. FreezeTS realised 14s 4d to 17s Id; light, 9s 6d to 12s 6d, up to 19s for extra prime. Store Sheep.—24oo penned, principally ewc3 and lambs. There was a fair demand for all classes. Wethers in wool realised up to 16s 4d, and shorn 11s 6d to 14s 7d; shorn ewes, with lambs (all counted), 5s 9d; hoggets, in the wool, 11s. Pigs.—4Sß yarded. All sarts were in good demand. Baconers realised 40s and 65s to 7Ss for extra, or equal to 5d per lb; porkers, 25s to 38s, equal to 5Jd to 6d per lb, good stores, Iss to 225, and up to 30s for extra, small sorts, 8s to 14s.
