WELLINGTON, November 22. A cheque for £317 was handed to the iUayor this morning as the proceeds of a, Cricket match on Wednesday got up by the ladies of the Williamson Opera. Company On behalf of the Elingamite sufferers. The Mayor, on behalf of the committee, presented each lady with a sliver fern leaf badge, inscribed "Elingamite," and warmly commended them for the way in which they !had personally worked by selling tickets and otherwise to make the function so successful. November 23. Mr Seddon communicated with the Premiers of New South Wales and Victoria asking them to supply particulars of any persons in those States who might be in distress and require help consequent on th«i loss of relatives through the wreck of tb* Elimgamite. He has now received a reply from Sir John See stating that the Royal Shipwreck Society will communicate with the "secretary of the Elingamite Relief Fund 'at Auckland, supplying all information respecting inquiries and requests for aid. - A FETE IN WELLINGTON. WELLINGTON, November 19. The fete promoted by members of Williamson's Musical Comedy Company in aid of the Elingamite Wreck Relief Fund was held to-day on Wellington College Grounds. The ladies of the company played a cricket match, and other attractions were provided. There was an attendance of 4000 or 5000 people. As a result of the fete over £300 has been raised for the fund.
