C.J.C. SPRING MEETING.

First Day — Saturday, November 8. For the first day of the C.J.C. meeting the weather -was threatening early in the day, but afterwards settled benntifully fine. The attendance was well up to the average. The favourite in the Cup was never prominent. The sum put through the totalisator was £22,664, as against £22,073 for the corresponding day last year. Results : — SPRING HURDLE HANDICAP, Of 200BOVS. Two miles. 509— Mr D. Thomson's b g Evening Wonder, by Wonderland— Vesper, aged, 10.13 (A. Hall) 1128—Mr W. Davies's br g Kohuni, aged, 9.7 (W. Thomas) 2 361 — Mr R. Harrison's b g Bellman, aged, 10.4 (Quinton) 3 Also started: 112 Huku 11.6, 303 Long Tom 10.13, 243 Scottish Minstrel 10.13, 59 My Lord 9.10, 163 Slow Tom 9.8. Bellman and Slow Tom at once took command from My Lord, Long Tom, and Evening Wonder, and led over the second fence, where Scottish Minstrel fell, interfering badly with Huku.
