The Chairman, in moving the adoption of

the report (already published), aai'l very little comment on it was «eco->-»ary. Ho would like, however, to suggest to whoever \\aa elected captain that an effort be made to continue the club runs. In regard to the road races, he noticed tha». the outgoing committee had reeemmended the ingoing committee to hold a series of these during the ensuing season. The balanoe sheet showed the club to be in a very pood position. Several items on the- expendi- . ture side, such as rent, expenses of moving, etc., would not recur next year This would make a difference of about £30 or £40. At the end of next year, if the club held together and every member brought 111 one other, they should be in a very good positicn

Mr A. A. Finch seconded the motion, which was carried.

Eight new members were ejected

Mr Crow raised the -question of whether the club should continue to hold its sports m°etings und-et *he auspices of the League of New Zealand' Wheelmen. He said there was a feeling ar. Ong some of the members that it wae amateivism in the cloak of professionalism ; or, rather, that they were fi.eltering professionalism under the cloak of amateurism.

The Chairman said lie did not think there was much chance ot thoir holding a sports meeting this year. Mt Wa!es thought the matter might be left with the committee to inquire into.

Several other members spoke briefly on thf question, expressing the opinion that the amateurism of the- club was not affected, and that- they did not think it possible to hold a decent meeting without professional riders.

The Chairman then- expressed hip pleasure at seeing Captain M'Millan present, and extended to him a hearty welcome back to the club.

Captain M'Millan acknowledged the kind remarks of the chairman ; and vot«3 of thanks having been p-assed to the retiring office-bearers the meeting concluded.
