International Problem Tourney of the Paris frxhibitiou of 1900.
The opening of the envelopes containing the names and addresses of the 110 competitors m the above tourney (organised by the proprietors of La Strategic) took place at the Cafe de la Regence, Paris, on 31st May last. The tourney has been one of great "magnitude, embodying competitors from all p«rts of the world, and tho proprietors of La Strategic are to be congratulated on the successful termination of their arduous task. As several of our best problem composers in Australia, and New Zealand entered for this competition, we have pleasure in publishing the list of prize-winners as recorded in La. Strategic of 20th June, last: — A. (In this section prizes of 60 francs, 30 frsuics, and 15 francs, respectively, were awarded for the best direct mate, unconditional', unpublished two-move problems.) 1. H. W. Barry, Boston, U.S.A. 2.
