August 25. — Some of the fanners around here tire going in for extensive cropping thi3 season, lucy are ploughing all the land available, with the "intention of sowing it in turnips and oats.
Changes. — Mr J. M'Kay, storekeeper and postmaster, Blue Spur, has sold out, the purchaser being Mr M'Kenzie. It is Mr M'Kay'a intei.tion to remove to Dunedin with his family, and enter into busine33 there
Weather. — Tiie iveathe'r was fine all last week up to Saturday afternoon, wheu rain came on. There was frost near'.y every morning. The barometer on the 19th (Tuesday) was low, 28.94. Next day was gloomy and threatening, but it passed off, and commenced freezing at night. The barometer on Friday was at 29.39. All Saturday night and Sunday we had S.W. showers of ram and snow, the barometer being dewn to 28 63. This morning there was fiost, and it ha 9 been fine so f«r — barometer 29.03, rising. The lowest reading of the thermometer was 29deg at 8 a.m. of the 19th, and the highest 62deg at 3 p.m. of the 21st.
