The weekly meeting of the committee of the Otago Rugby Football Union held on Monday was attended by Messrs Hutchison (president), Macdonald, Harris, Wilkinson, Ross, Macaasey, Campbell, Priest, Duncan, Munro, andi Smith. It was deoided to refund the sum of £5 each to Dr J. B. Thomson and Mr D. Simpson, being the amount of their contributions towards the expenses of the 1887 team. It was deoided that the Third Grade Competition be closed, also that the Wednesday Competition be closed, with the exception of the unplayed match Grocers v. Retailers A, which will take place on the Carisbrook Ground on Wednesday. Permission was granted tff the High School Club to use the Carisbrook Ground on Friday on the occasion of their match with the Southland High School. The patronage of the union was granted to the Otago Gymnastic Association on the occasion of their annual display on the 29th inst.
It was decided to vote the Balclutha Club pound for pound up to JGS towards the improvement to their ground.
