THE SHEEP RETURNS.
(Faoii Our Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON', August 1. There were 20,302,032 sheep in the colony on April 30 laet, being an increase of 68,923 over the total on the same date in 1901. The incroaae in the North Island was 60,038, and in the South Island 8885. The flocks in the different districts were: Auckland, 868,929, a decrease of 11,448; Napier, 4,651,074, an increase of 116,436; Wellington and West Coast, 4,758,980, a decrease of 44,950 ; Marlborough and Nelson, 933.088, an increase of 21,421 ; Canterbury aud Kaikoura, 5.115,285, an increase of 12,230; Otago, 3,953,2 \S, a decrease of 24,766. The total increase was 150,087, and the total decrease 81,164.
The dairy-farmer can cave his milk by using Nnmo AND Blaib'b " Laetina," which is a splendid substitute fqr milk. It mixes with water, and is readily taken by the calf at all times, and it tells its tale in a very short time. Price, §d per lb; 50a fls» pT7ti.. t
