OTAGO LAND BOARD.

The ordinary meeting of th" Otago Land Koard, held on Wednesday, was attended by the Chief Commibsionei (Mi D. Barron), and Commissioners W. Dallas, J Duncan, and H. H. Kirkpatricc.

Ranger M'Dougall forwarded an application from James Buckley for ?, license to cut 100 cords of firewood out of dead trees between Smith's Bay and Bush Point, Hawaa, also 500 post 3at Bush Point. — Application granted for dead timber only on the usual royalty.

George Gaudm applied to have an area of five acres set aside at Makarora as a site foi a, cemetery. — It was decided to grant two ocres, to bo marked off the next time the surveyors wet e in the locality.

W. B. Cairns made application for a license ever about three acre 3, part of section 2. block VI, Kurow district, for raising coal or lignite, i.orth of area held by D. Sutherland.— Referred to the ranger for report. The Waihomo County Council wrote in legard to a petition from settlers in Macraes Riding asking that unexpended fourths be leallocated to the proposed Rock and Pillar bridge, and stated that the council could not approve of the reallocation in the meantime.— Petitioners to be rdvised ae:oidingly.
