ISLA BANK.

August 1. — We have liad most changeable weather recently, with cold wind and rain almost everyday. We had, however, a couple of fine, dry days last week. The main read between Drummond and Fairfax *s in good order, but the by-roads are simply a sea of mud, and are most difficult to travel. There is a large amount of traffic along the main road to the station during the giam season. This is a fine district for growing oats, but not much ploughing has been done «o far, the ground being so wet that it would be unprofitable to work it at present.

Ploughing Match. — The- Drumniond ploughmg match was both successful and enjoyable. There were 21 ploughs- in the field, and I was delighted to see the good work done.
