ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET

CHRISTCHURCH, July 23. At Addington .to-day the usual sales were held.

F^t Cattle.— 2lß yarded, including a number of good bullocks anr? a lot ot useful cows and heifers. The sap was on a par with last week. Best boef, '22s 6d to 25s 6d per 1001b, other, 19s to 2'2s 4d. Prime bullocks realised £10 to il2 7s; steers, £6 to £9 10s , extra prime heifers, £9 to £13 10s ; others, £5 53 to £3 10s , cowa, £5 to £7 sf.

Store and Dairy Cattle. — There was only a Rmall supply of stores. Good 18-montli3 steers realised £3 18s; 15 to 18-months old tattle, £* 2', to £2 3s 6d ; dry tows, £2 7s to £4.

Fat Sheep — About 3000, mostly good quality, penned. Buye-s for shipment to Sydney (alive and dead) hardened. Heavy-weights and freezing buyers operated more ireely. Heavy wethers rpalised 19s 6d to 225, freezers, 15s 6d to 18s 4d, and up to 19s 4d for a nice line of 240 from Oamaru ; hght wcthcia pnd ewes, 14s 6d to 15b M, heavy ewes, 15s to ISh , others, lls to 14s 4d.

Fat Lambs. — 400 penned, mostly gocd sorts. There was a better demand, and nearly all were taken for export at 13s 9d to 14a ; a few .«• mailer sold to butchers at lls 6d to 12s 6d.

Stora Shepp. — 3030 penned, mostly wethers and hoggets, and there was a better demand i'or all classes. Forward weth°rs fetched 12s 6d to 33s 3d, 1000 South Cant.-rbury wethers and ewes were taken by an Ashburton grazier at 12s lOd ; good, sound-nioutheU ewes, 12s 9d to 14s, aged, 5s 2d ; hoggets, 6s to 9s lOd. Pigs. -Al>out 350 yarded. There was a good sale for all sorts. Baconers realised 38s to 48s, and up to 60s for extra heavy, equal to 4d per lb, porkers, 22s to 345, equal to 4d and 4sd per lb, large fatores, 16s to 21s, smaller do, 12s to 15s, suckers and weaners, 7s to 9s 6d.
