(From Our Own Correspondent.) GORE, July 24.

An inquiry was conducted by Mr Cruik shank, S.M., last night and until 3 o'clock this morning into the cause of the fire whereby the house of P. J. O'Connor was recently burnt down. The jury found that although the circumstances, especially oveiinsurance, appeared auspicious, the evidence was insufficient to justify them in criming to the conclusion that O'Connor wilfully set fire to the premises. The police, it is stated, aro going to prosecute for alleged fal.°3 declarations a' to O'Connor's losses.
