A letter from Mr M. Salter and three others complaining of the state of the road past their property was referred to the inspector for report. v inspector's beport. The County Inspector (Mr Wm. -Rendell) re-ported as follows • — The covering on the two culverts on Macallum's road is getting considerably decayed, and will require renewal at an early date ; I estimate the cost at £8. — Inspector instructed to get tlie nork.,c3oiie.

Concerning the road applied for at the last meeting of council by Mr M'Kay and others from section 19, block I, and the Cemetery road, I found them considerably overgrown with gorse in several places, and the narrow traclvery muddy in consequence of timber sledging. A man could do all that is necessary in a weak if the gorse was cleared from each tide of the roadline. — Inspector to act. On what is known as Love's road there ar? several places that are slightly rutted, and two or three slips that require to be removed, but the traffic is not interfered with by them, as the loadway is clear. A man for a week can do all that is necessary on this road in the meantime. — The work to be carried out. I examined the slip near Yeoman's, and as the damage is on private land, four chains away from county boundary, I am of opinion that the council is in no way responsible. — Inspector to report at next meetingv Concerning the application of Mr Heckier and other ratepayers in the Hawksbury Riding re Chisholm's road, there is a steep pinch on this roacl, and to reduce this pinch it "would require three chains of formation and 25 yards of rotten rock, and I estimate the cost of this work at £4 to £5.
