Four hundred and twenty-seven civil servants have been dismissed or allowed to resign during the year ended June, representing a saving of £65,000. SYDNEY, July 25. In the Assembly the Women's Franchise Bill was read a second tinie by 53 to 8. In committee the clause providing that women should not be candidates for parliamentary elections was carried by 45 to 14.
