The South Australian ha-> arrived from the Bluff. Slip failed to discover any trace of the Qniraing. July 26. The South Australian ran short of coal owjnp; to her protracted search for the Quiraing. Amongst other thinas some fittings and 30 bag-, of oats were requisitioned to keop the hro going. CHRISTCHVRCH, July 25. It is expected that H.M.S. Ringarooma, now at Lyttelton, will start to-morrcw to search for tlve missing eteamer Quiraing. The crew of the Quiraing was made up as follows : — Master, A. Forrester, native of Glasgow; first mate, R. F. Duck, London ; second mute, S. Newton, Ireland.

Captain Forrester was formerly m ±±vxidart, Parker, and Company's service. Iho mate (R. F. Duck) was for some time master of the steamer Coomonderrr. The Quiraing was imported by the old A.S.N. Company for the Queensland trade, and after that company amalgamated with the Queensland Shipping Company she was sold, and employed in island and other trades She is an iron screw steamer, witn a net register of 653 tons, and gross measurement of 1166 tons, having a length of /ZOH 2in, beam of 31ft 9in, and depth of 19ft 9m. She was built in 1832, and is at present owned by a Brisbane syndicate, being thin voyage under charter to Mr Sneddon, of Sydney.

It will be remembered that the South Aus tralian, on her passage from Newcastle to Dunedin, made a search for the overdue stemmer. She discharged her cargo here, and left on the 18th inst., calling at the Bluff. Her search going back does not appear to have been a very exhaustive one, in view of the time occupied.
