THE BROWN CHALLENGE SHIELD. WELLINGTON, July 23.
A meeting of the New Zealand Football Association to-night decided that in the «vent of the Otago Association not fulfilling its engagement with the Auckland Association the Brown Shield shall be awarded to Auckland, but tha,t association is not to liave its name engraved on the shield unless one of the other centres challenges for the trophy and loses the match.
