HUNGARY'S FRIENDLINSESS.

LETTER FROM PROFESSOR VAMBERY. "WANGANCI. Mait-h 17. A local resident has received a letter from Professor Vambery, of Buda Pesth. University, in reply to sympathetic remark.* upon th^denuneiation of the Hungarian Premier in regard to Great Britain's work in South Africa. After speaking as to reasons for the friendliness of Hungary to Britain, Professor Vambery says : " The behaviour of Continental Europe to-day against England is the outcome of unqualifiable wickedness and rtupidity of the unfortunate masses, led by selfish patrons of mediaeval darkness, who will deeply regiet it when they learn that they have given a.- c istance iv pulling down the glorious rampart <if liberty, and that they helped to extinguish the noblest light mankind hag ever produced. We all hope that they will not succeed in their diabolical work, but that England will issue victorious out of the present struggle ; and 1 trust the colonies will not forget that any harm done to tho fountain of their political existence must bring ruin to themselves."
