CLEARING SALE.
Messrs Wright. Stephenson, and Co. report having held a clearing pale yesterday at Mr W. V. Forrester's farm. Korth-Eaat Valley, of the whole of his flue herd of dairy cows, young cattle, horses, farming implements, dairy utensils, etc., when there was a large gathering of farrn.--r.«. tr?der?, and dairymen. Competitions for the coiva, which, tokpn as a whole, verc sn exceptionally good lot, wjs spirited! throughout, and very satisfactory prices were realised. Best cows, in full iniJk and not long calved, fetched from £4 10s to £8 7s 6d ; autumn calvers fa really fine lot of young cows, and in grand condition) brought from £5 2s 6d to £7 ss : heifers, two years old, at £4 2s fid to £i 17s Cd ; steers, two years old, at £3 15s. *Hor=!es also sold well. One spring-carter, six years old. nfler 'keen competition, was knocked down to Messrs WiUon Bro3. for £31. A few other light horses were disposed of at from £10 15s io £15. Implements, harness, dairy utensils, el?., at satisfactory prices.
