Thomas Paterson and Co., Manse street, report for the week ending March 18: — The glut is now over, and prices during the last week have much improved for all fruits. Apples : Cooking, 3a to 4s ; dessert, 5s to 8s ; smalls, Is to Is 6d per ca<3e. Bananas : In short supply. Oranges: None offering. Cucumbers, 4s to Ss per dozen ; outside-grown, 2a Gel to *m per case. Lemons: Messina, whole case, 21s tc 255; halves, lls to 12s 6d for prims conditioned. Peaches: Choice, 2d to 3d; inferior, 2s to 3s per case. Apricots, 2d to 3d (seascn over). Plunic, ljd to 2Jd. Tomatoes;. Hothouse, 4d ; outside. 2d to 3d. 'Produce. — Butter: Fresh, from 6d to 7d. Bacon : Rolls, 7d. Hams, 7d to Bd. Pigs. — 3Jd to 4d ; good demand. Potatoes. — Peninsula kidneys and others, £3 to £2 10s. Poultry. — Hens, 2s to 2s 9d ; roosters, 3s to 3a 6d ; ducks, 3s to 3s 9d ; geese, 4s to 5s per pair; "turkeys, 6d to 8d Der lb. We receive poultry and other produce- any day except Saturday.
