CHRISTCHURCH, March 12. At the Addin^ton market to-day only 146 fat cattle, mostly mixed sorts, were sold at auction. Prices were firmer by Is 6d per 1001b, reaching 17s 6d to 22s 6d. Steers, £6 5s to £9 7s 6d; heifers, £5 10s to £8 7s 6d ; cows, £5 15s to £8. Fat sheep totalled 3500, including some good Jines of North Island ewes and wethers. Sheep fit for export maintained the lato rates of 15s to 17s Id, and unfinished wethers 14s to 14s 9d. There was good demand for the best ewea at from 12s to 14s 9d, up to 15s 9d for extra ; secondary sorts were easier at 8s to lls, and towards the close inferior sorts were almost unsaleable at 4s 6d to 7s 6d. Fat Lambs. — 2400 were yarded, including many unfinished, and only the priraest upheld the late prices. Exporters took 1528 at 10s 6d to 13s Gd, the butchers 166 at 10s to 13s 9d, the graziers 270 at 8s 6d to 9s 4d, and 436 'were passed at 8s 3d to 12s 3d. Store Sheep. — 12,616 of all classes were yarded, and met with an improved demand owing to the improved feed prospects after the late rains.
