The coai&c hairs can only be removed by the pioce^s kno ami as electrolysis. This consists of passing a needle attached U an electric battery into the sheath of the hair and practically burning it out. Tins, process is tedious, painful, and expensive. To remove the fine hairs, the only methods are shaving, and the vse of paste«. Shaving is- not recommended, as it seems to stimulate further growth. The following pastes may be tried : Barium sulphide, two drachms, ; poAvdered zinc oxide, three drachms ; poAvdered starch, thi'e^ drachms, 'lhis is made into a paste Avith a little water and spread on the hairy region for 10 or 15 minutes. As> soon as burning is experienced, it should be washed off, and boracic acid or zinc oxide ointment applied. The applications* need to be renewed 1
