WELCOME AT KELSO.
At Kelso on Friday evening great preparations were made to welcome the local cqntingent, and Troopers Ross, Robertson, and Wyse were splendidly entertained by the public. The hall was crowded to the doors and the boys received a most enthusiastic welcome. Mr Fraser Falconei presided. At a break in tho concert programme the three troopers we 1"*1"* presented with very handsome gold medals, ap- . piopriately inscribed, and the presents are worthy of being cherished by the recipients. The social was an unqualified success, and carried out on a liberal scale by an energetic committee. A feature of the Kelso receptions was the decorations at the railway station and public hall, the work, I believe, of the stationmaster (Mr D. W. Pemberton). The visitors at the social were Sergeant Bowling [ and Trooper Morrison, both members of the fourth contingent, and the public warmly welcomed them with their own boys. Tlie inevitable dance concluded the gathering.
