RECEPTION AT CROMWELL. (From Our Own Cobbespondent.) July 19.
The record crowd for Cromwell assembled yesterday afternoon to welcome home our returned troopers—Lieutenant Jolly, Corporal Mason, and Bombadier Eady. The men were met outside the town by the volunteers, Oddfellows, and school children, and a band, and escorted to the Council Chambers, where they were officially received by the Mayor. A-fter a thanksgiving prayei addiesses were given by Messrs Tait and Hoskmg. The greatest enthusiasm prevailed. In the evening the town was illuminated, and a quantity of fhewoiks let off A social is to be held to-night, and a smoke concert by the R'fles next Tuesday.
