I am sending a copy of this circular to all mayors and chairmen of county councils throughout Otago, and in some cases it may be desirable that a mayor and county chairman should take cojijoint action. Whether this be so or not I trust that our united efforts may result in the erection of a memorial worthy of its, object, and of which the people of Otago for generations to come may be justly proud. I enclose some subscription lists, and shall be happy to send you a further supply at any time.
