The Egmont Farmers' Union (Limited) report: — At Stratford, on the 16th ult., we had the largest yarding of stock that we have had for some time. -■ Although there was not a very large attendance, bidding was spirited, remitting in nearly every pen of stock changing hands at the hammer. Fat cows, £5 Is to £5 9s 6d ; store cows, .£3 14s to SA 23 ; empty heifers, £i 3s to £Z 183 6d ; two and a-half-year steers, £-1 18s; 15-month steers £1 19s to JE3 ss; yearlings, £2 2s to JE2 14s; calves, 11s to 15S ; "bulls, £3 2s (3d to £5 10s'. We submitted a very large yarding of stock at the Glover Koad yards on the 22nd ult. Although the attendaaipe was large, bidding wt<» not so keen as of late, resulting in many o£ xhe reserves not being reached. The show bu11,..-' were passed in tit £12 ss. Fat bullocks, S.l to £7 12s Cd;- -forward bullocks, £5 6s to JB6 23 6cl, 2' to 2J*-year steers, £4 4s to £& 16s; 12 to 18- • montrf-steers, £3- to £3 6s 6d; show cows (fat), £8; far cows, £& 15s to £7.; store cows, £3 6s to 'M 4s"6d; cowa and calves, £i 5s to SA ISs £d , springing heifers, M 10s to .£5 ss ; yearling heifers,' £2 Is to £1 3s 6d; shorthorn bulls, £%s to 14£g's; Ayrshire bulls, 9£gs. Sheep: Fat ewes, 14s; hoggets. 12s. At Okaiawa, on the 23rd ult., we offered a good yarding of cattle, all of which were of good qtia-lity and good concUiicn. With the exception of one or two l*f-ns, every line of stock changed hands at the hammer. Fat cows, .84. 10s to £5 6s; store ctws, £3 2s 6d to £3 14s; empty heifers, £3 :>a to £3 10s 6d; 2 to 2J-year steeds, £i 2s to £i 15s 6d; 18-month steers, £3 to £3 8s; mixed vearlinga, ±2 14s to £3 Is; weaners, 18s to ±1 325;3 2s; springers, £i 2s 6d to £5. Sheep: Fat sheep, 14s 3d. At our monthly horse fair, held on the 24th ult., a large entry of horses came, forward. Although there was a fair inquiry for good soits, but few horses changed hands, no doubt ownig to reserves being higher than would-be purchasers were prepared to give Draughts, £'20 to £27 15s; harness iioises, £9 15s to £18; hacks, £i to £16 10s; unbroken horses, £2 10s to £16 7s 6d.
