" Black and White " Christmas number (Mr W. J. Priotor, Dunedin). — This is a most credit able production. There are four complete stories, including one by T. Quiller Couch, entitled " Three Men of Badajos," and Eoine beautiful and artistic illustrations. The young people are by no means forgotten. The large supplements are of considerable merit. "One of the Boys," from a water coloured drawing, is a picture of a typical " Mr Thomas Atkins." " The Poor Relation " may be said to be a seasonable (reminder, but in .this case the animal kingdom provides the subject. A well fed bulldog is depicted, after having taken his fill, disdainfully permitting a half-starved animal to lick the outside of the overturned dish. " Chums " is a charming picture. A little dot is with her arm over her dog friend and protector.
