Sir, — After an experience of 20 years, I caa fully endorse your correspondent's notes on the dredging industry in and around Gore. Thereis now no doubt as to the huge success this industry is boimd to prove, for we have the splendid success of the Charlton Creek and , others which show this. Then again, looking to the Kawarau, the success of the Meg and Annie is of much more importance than many of the Dunedin public realise. The latter dredge has done wonders the past few weeks, especially considering tho flooded state of the river. Altogether, the outlook for dredging in Otago and Southland is i brilliant. I write these few lines to encourage those whose faith may be on the wane, and to advise them to think twice before parting with what, in the majority of cases, will prove valuable | properties. — I am, etc., j November 19.
