THIRD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP.

- The match Dunedin No. Iv. Carisbrook E was played at Carisbrook, and resulted in a win for Dunedin by an innings and 55 runs. Dunedin,batting first, totalled 94, Montgomery (17), De la Mere (16 not out),- Morgan (13), Kirkwood (11), Courtis (12), and M'Xewen (10) reachutg double figures. Arlidge, who secured six wickets, bowled best, and Bridger was a good second with three wickets. Carisbrook, batting only seven men, were disposed of for 37. De' la Mere (five for 6) proved very destructive as a bowler. Carisbrook went in a second time, but did not do much better, being dismissed for 22, Cullen and Montgomery doing the bowling for Dunedin. - Hendley No. 2 met and defeated the High School on the Asylum ground by 116 rune. The former, batting first, put up 143 runs, R. Torrance contributing 43, Graham 38, and Pollock 31. The HigL School were all-dis-posed of for 27 runs. For the Hendley Stewart (seven for 10) and Maofarlane (two for 13) were the most successful bowlers, while Herbert and Fisher did well for the losers. The Taieri and Roslyn tried conclusions at -Bishopseourt on Saturday. The former batted first, and compiled 99 runs, J. Stocldart (4-7), E, Turabtill-(23), and A. Smith (17) battingwell. The home team replied with 61 for five wickets,, E. Sunderland .(15) and J. Cook (15) reaching double figure^. J. Edwards* was the most successful bowler for Roslyn, as was Stoddart for the visitors. The Opoho and Albion teams met at Opoho, the game resulting in a win for the hill team by 28 runs. Opoho batted first, and knocked up 74 before they were disposed of. Doig. who played well for 32 not out, and Abbott (10) were the only batsmen to reach double figures. The Albion could only make 46, Shelton (13 not out) beinc-f the only one to reach double figures. Anderson and M'Kersey for Opoho, and Watson and White for Albion, bowled well. The -Grange No. 2 and Privateers No. 1 met on the Asylum ground on Saturday, the match ending in a draw, each side scoring 78 runs. For the Privateers Delahuntv made 20 runs and Smith 12, while Daniels (15) and Dry (13) -were the highest scorers tor the Granste. Murray (Privateers) and Johnston (Grange) bowled well. Central Mission met and defeated the Privateers No. 2 by 37 runs. For the winners A. Beck (13) and Harris (10) were the chief contributors, and ir> b'owlinpr A. Beck a;ot five wickets for 8, and F. Beck three for 12. The Roslvn team claim the match against Cprisbrook by default. The Third ClaE*- Championship m^tch Roslyn v. Carisbrook has been awarded to Roslyn _by the Third Class Championship Committee.
