AN APPEAL ALLOWED IN STYCHE'S CASE.

CHRISTCHURCH, November 24. 'At the Supreme Court, Mr Joynt asked for leave to apply to the Appeal Court for a new trial in the prosecution of Henry Vincent Styche, found guilty of attempting to procure another to commit murder. After' 'bearing the addresses of counsel his Honor reserved his judgment till 12.30 to--day- ' On; the court resuming Mr Justice Martin granted the .application for leave to apply to- the Court "of Appeal for a new trial; but stated that he could not admib 'the accused to •bail." He sentenced Styche to seven years' imprisonment with • hard labour, the sentence to be suspended till the next sittings of the- -Court- of Appeal or until' the matter be earlier dealt with.
