(Fbom Otjb, Own Cortiespohdsnt.') CLYDE, November 15.' The high river still prevents the Vincent dredge resuming work. Necessary small repairs have been executed in ihe meantime. The Unity dredge is now ready to resume work. The contractor has str.rted to dress the timber for the Old Dunstan pontoons. The river is> falling steadily, and is now 6Jfi above the normal. The returns from the New Alexandra are improving. The dredge has opened out a splendid cut on the east side of the claim. The amalgamation of the Old Dunstan and Dunstan Pioneer Companies is spoken of. Such a course would be advantageous to both parties, the claims being adjoining. November 17. Copious rains fell here to-day, and the atmosphere is cold and unsympathetic with the season. The river is still slowly falling, though, possibly this day's rain may have the effect of raising the level again. The tenders for the erection of machinery on the Monte Christo and C-iirnmulr pontoons . have not been decided so far. The Vincent Extended dredge will be com« plete in a week pi- so from date. The electric light has been sticcessfully in> stalled on the Matau dredge. November 19. A heavy coating of sr.ow covers the highar altitudes. The river fell ?ome eighteen inches last night. The Cairumuir pontoons are aground on tha building she. No steps are taken to float them, off. The Unity dredge resumes works to-day.
