The rules of the Metropolitan Club of the district will be strictly adhered to, Loth as regards the racing and the working of the totalisator. The Trotting Races will be run under the rules of the New Zealand Trotting Association. No entry to be received for any race except •under these conditions: That all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall bs decided by the Stewards, or a majority of them, and their decisions' on all points "connected with the carrying out of the above programme to be final. r - No protest shall be entertained unless lodged in. writing and accompanied by the sum of £I.' Jockey costume insisted upon. NOMINATIONS for all Handicaps, including Trots, to be in the hands of the Secretary not later than 9.30 p.m. on THURSDAY, 20th December, 1900. Nominations for Trots to be accompanied with pedigree (if any) and previous performances. HANDICAPS for the first day's races will be declared on or about SATURDAY, st\ January, 1901. Handicaps for the second day will be posted up at the Office of the Secretary at 8 o'clock on the night of the first day's ACCEPTANCES for the first day's racing, and Entries for the Maiden Plate, must be lodged with the Secretary not later than 9.30 p.m. on SATURDAY, 12th January, 1901. Acceptances for the second day's races close half an hour after ths Handicaps are posted. Farewell Dash Trot Handicaps will be lasted immediately after the Handicap Time Trot . (second day) is run Acceptances close 15 minutes after Handicaps are posted. Farewell Handicap weights will be posted immediately aftei the Stewards' Purse is run. Acceptances close 15 minutes .efler weights are posted. After the declaration of weights, the winner of any Handicap Race of the value (as defined in Rule 36 of " Rules of Racing ") of £20 shall carry a penalty of slb; of fiom over £20 to £35, a penalty of 71b ; and of over £35, a penalty of 101b. If the requisite penalties are not carried, owners will be held responsible. All Nominations to be accompanied by Fees, with name, age, and description of horse, and colours of rider — to be in the hands of the Secretary not later than the days and the hours above-mentioned. This Rule -will be strictly adhered to. Penalty against anyone laying iotalisatoi odds will be strictly enforced. No cash fielders or disqualified persons will be allowed on the course. JAMES J.
