THE ASH BURTON SHOW.
ASHBURTON, October 24. The Ashburton show was well attended, in spite of the showery weather. The principal winners were : —
Sheep. — Merinos : P. Stone and W. Rule. The latter also won in crossbieds and fat sheep. Leicesters: Digby and Jeff. Shropshire Downs . Furze, Upton, and Stnngfellow. Cattle. — Shorthorns: J. Small; Ayrshires: E. Clark; fat, \V. Stoddart. Horses. — Draughts : Honours were fairly divided amongst J. Grigg, Small, Clark, and Shearer. Light horses : G-. Buckley and Elworthy. The horses, both light and heavy, surpassed all previous exhibitions. Pigs. — W. Wells and J. Kowe cleared the board. Implements and produce were especially good, the former being a very attractive display.
