A bright, taking little song has just come out in Dunedin, a little " previously," perhaps, as the theme is " Our boys' return from the front." It is pleasantly tuneful, and has a good swinging rhythm, which is calciilated to catch the ear of the public. A Maori chorus gives it a national flavour, and suggests the seasonable idea oif a neAV greeting for Home friends. Maori art, New Zealand scenes, and colonial Christmas annuals have for years past demonstrated to Britisa relatives that Aye are to some extent an artistic and literary people. Such a novelty as a genuine Maori Avar song should hint that we are a singing people also. The song is written and composed by Mrs Arthur Foster, a Timaru lady, as Aye understand, and can be obtained at the Dresden Coinx^any's.
