His string comprises Pampero, Brisa, Canteen, Lochiel — Husset colt, and the Gipsy Grand — Fairymaid filly. In -each of her /races at Gore Edelweiss repeated her 'Wingatui performance by defeating her field at the start. In one instance her -head was under the -tapes when the barrier rose, in which she gained two or three lengths' advantage. The daughter of St. Clair — Indolence is very fast -oil the mark.
ituttlcdge has an addition to his stable in the way of a filly by Lakeshell — Goergie Sharp. The filly is -thick-set, and fairly forward. "Waitaki Maid is the other inmate.

Len. "King will-Tide Canteen in the two-year-old events at -the New Zealand Oup meeting. Canteen proved 'too' many for La Reine and the filly by Gipsy Grand — dairymaid on Saturday morning over four furlongs. Mr A. Moss -was present to see his colt work. Off Chance led Hed Banner after covering seven furlongs on the inside of the racing track. jJippomenes and Waitaki Maid tried conclusions for six furlongs on the same track. The old chestnut proved to be the faster of the two. Gladys II had no trouble in defeating the St. Leger— Valentina gelding in a four-furlong flutter on the grass track. Pampero and Brisa negotiated a -mile, while Maremma accompanied the pair the laEt five furlongs. The first-mentioned ran into a ilag-post, but did not injure himself in any way.
A 'bay gelding, hailing from Australia, has been placed in M'Ginness's stable, to be trained for future meetings. I understand he claims Abercorn as his sire.
