Frayed Edges. — To prevent linen collars with trayed edges from* irritating the neck, pimply rub an ordinary wax match over the ''edges, and this will make it quite comfortable to the wearer. A tea&poontul of salt and a, dessertspoonful of lemon juice answer the same purpose as "rails of lemon" for removing ironmould from linen, and is not a poison nor iimu-ious to the article. To Clean White and Grey Felt Hats.— Take a small piece of glass-paper (often commonly miscalled white emeiy-paper) and nib the hat thoroughly the way of the nap, and it will look like new. li dace boots or shoes are rubbed onskly —c'ftev cleaning with a little cream — with a piece of velvet, they will be found to retain o most betmtiful gloss until the end. This answers for patent leather equally ab well * To Put Invisible Patches on Curtains. — Cut a o-ood piece to the required size out of any old one, and dip it in some starch TheiTpre^ it on the curtain with a hot iion, and it will stick unul the curtain is washed again. To Remove Mildew.— Mix soft-soap wnh powdered starch, half as much salt, and the iuice of a lemon. Lay the mixture on both sides of the stain with a pamfcer s bru^h Let it lie on the giass day and nitfht till the mildew mark disappears. For a Greasy Skin.— Don't wash tho face with roap and water above once a clay. Instead, "rub the face gently but firmly wirh soit paper, which absorbs the grease, tind at the same time beautifies and cleanses th-2 m a very astonishing and pleasing manner. . .
