Victorian Championship Tourney.
F. T. Best, Champion. The contest for the Victorian championship stands cut in marked contrast alongside the big Town v. Country match which is held annually in Melbourne, the latter event being numerically' nearly three times the size of our Dunedin gathering, while the championship tourney is less than half the size of the New Zealand championship. The Victorian championship has just been decided for the year, the title going to the populai Mr F. T. Best, of Collingwood. We are not aware what the prize money was, but probably if £60 or £70 could ba provided, the entry list would be much larger. The following gives the entries and the drawing, with results : —
