DRAUGHTS MATCH.

PORT CHALMERS v. PENINSULA. The return match between the above clubst took place at Nelson's Hotel, Porto.bello, on Friday, September 7, 14 players aT~side taking part. The Port team, suffering from their last defeat, managed to place a victory, by a substantial majority, to their credit this time. This is the first time Port has defeated tho Peninsula out of four matches that have been played between them. It was a beautiful moonlight night, and a most enjoyable outing was spent. At the conclusion of play, full justice was done to the good things provided by Host Nelson. It was decided that the match between Port and Peninsula Combined v. Dunedin be played at Portobelio on Wednesday, September 12, if suitable to Dunedini players. Subjoined are the scores : —
