Moore, mayor and chairman of the school ccminittee, and the Rev. Messrs Miller, Small, and Bellhouse. The initiative in getting the flag was taken by Mr Watters, first assistant, and as that gentleman was leaving the school after four years' connection with it, advantage was taken of the occasion to present him with a token of the esteem in which he was held, in the form of a gold chain and pendant. Farmers' Club. — A good deal of interest was taken in the annual meeting of the Tokomairiro Farmers' Club on Tuesday evening. The report and balance sheet disclosed a very satisfactory state of affairs, a credit balance of about £80 being shown. It was pointed out, however, that there were outstanding liabilities of nearly £$20, of which no mention had been made; that would reduce the balance to the still very creditable amount of £60. Mr John Tough was unanimously elected president for the ensuing yea^ while for the office of vice-

piesident Mr James Grey beat Mr E. Ferguson by a small majority All the old members of committee were re-elecied, with the exception of Messis W. Grey and J. Forsylh, their places being taken by Mes=rs T. Scott and D. Tweedie. A proposal to change the name of the club to the Bruce Farmeis' Club received no support, on flio giounds that the present name had old aad historic associations, and that there were other agiicultural societies m the county of Bruce besides the local one. At a subsequent meeting of committee Mr A. Campbell was elected secrelaiy, at a salary of £20 per annum.
