THE WOOL SALES.

Messrs Dalgetjvand Co. (Limited) have received the following cable from their head office, dated London, July 20, 1900:— "The wool sales closed without any further change. Out of the net quantity available, some 73,000 bales have been sold for Home consumption, 50,000 bales for the continent, 2000 'bales for America— leaving 158,000 bales to be carried forward to the next series. For the bulk of greasy merino wools prices are on the average 8 per cent, lower than the closing rates of last series. Medium and inferior greasy merino and fine crossbreds are 10 per cent, lower. Medium and coarse crossbred are on a par with closing rates of last series. The first series of the next year's wool sales have been fixed to open on January 15. The quantity of new arrivals is not to be limited."
