INVERCARGILL, Monday.
Mrs H. Oarswell gave a large euchre party the week before last, fully 40 guest's being present. The entertainment, which was a most delightful one, was given in honour of Mr and Mrs Jack Oarswell.
Last Wednesday evening Mid Grig or gave a modt enjoyable progressive enchre party in honour of Miss L. Mackerras, about 30 gtiests being present.
On the same clay Mrs W. Gutlirie gave a ladies' luncheon party at her resider.ee, North road.
j .On Friday last Mr and Miss Macdonald gave 1 a very enjoyable dance at Enwood in lionoui ! of their guest, Miss Morris. Amongst those ! present were Mr and Mrs Bush, Dr and Mrs • MacLeod, Mr and Mrs Bicknell, Miss Grigor, , Miss Ayton, Miss Thomson, Miss ISTcna Thomson (who made her debut), Dr and 2t!rs -Sogg;, ; Miss Mackerras, Mr and Mrs Story. Miss Stock, Miss Sharp, Mr and Mrs Howorth, Mr Bartmann, Dr Watson. Mr J. E. Watson, Mr Burnes, Mr and Mrs Tothill, Mr Paul, Mr . Rowley, Miss Russell, Miss Nurse, Miss Wade, Mrs Cliisholm, etc.
Mrs Sleigh (Dunedin) is at present visiting here, staying with Mrs R. P u . Kcgg.
