UPPER TAIERI

July 28. — After a suspension of several weeks, consequent on the severity of the frosts, the Deep Stream Hydraulic Sluicing Company, at Walsh's Grossing, resumed mining operations on Thursday last. The frost has given way, and a heavy downpour of rain filled the company's water-race with a good supply of water for sluicing requirements. The Deep Stream at the time of writing is discharging an immense volume of water into the Taieri River.
