The National Republican Convention at Philadelphia, after wildly enthusiastic proceedings, nominated Mr M'Kinley for the Presidency and Colonel Theodore Roosevelt for the Vice-presidency, both unanimously,
The platform of the National Republican Convention is eulogistic of President M'Kinley's action abroad, especially in regard to Samoa and China, but colourless and platonic towards the Boers. There are various indications of a friendlier feeling for Britain.
