BURNS CLUB.
The Burns Club monthly concert took the form of a limelight entertainment in the Choral Hall on the 20th. -Mr Robert Dunlop, of the Orepuki shale works, lent a large number of lantern slides, and notes on them descriptive of the " Homas and Haunts " of the poet Burns. Mr "Walter Blackie undertook * the manipulation of the lantern, and Mr Robert Ercwn filled the role of lecturer. The views were interspersed: at suitable intervals with part songs and vocal items. The choir, under Mr Don, sang " There was a lad was born in Kyle," " O' a' the airts the wind can Maw," and " Scots wha hae."' Mr James Jago sang " Gae bring tae me a pint o' wine," and was honoured with an encore. Mrs D. Thomson gave an enjoyable rendering" ot " Ye banks and braes," and Mr J. Thomson •was heard to advantage in " Afton water." The entertainment concluded, as all Scotch.' concerts do, with '" Auld lang syne," 'which, was sung by the choir and the a\idience.
