The Egmont Farmers' Union, Ltd., report as follows:— On Tuesday, 32th June, we held a clearing sale of dairy stock on account of Mr Thos. Allan, at Meremere. All the cows were well competed for, and prices were most satisfactory. /-We quote: Dairy cows £4 to £3 15«, 2£-year heifers £4 6s to £i 12s 6d, 18-montli heifers £3, 12s, weaners £1 6d, pigs 2a 6d to 225, horses £2 10s to £3 15s, sheep (shorn lambs) 9s 4d, ewes (mixed ages) lls 9d. For the sale at Manaia on Wednesday, June 13th, there was not a large yarding of stock, but bidding was fairly brisk, though in many instances the reserves were not reached. Fat cows £3 5s to S3 15«, empty heifers £2 12s to £2 16s, snringers £4. to £i 10s, weaners £1 10s to £1 34s 6d. Sheep : Wethers 10s 6d to 13s Cd. At Stratford on Friday, 15th, a good yarding of cattle came forward, but on account of the rough weather few buyers were present. "Bidding was slow, but a fair amount of business was done during the afternoon. Fat cows £3 6s to £3 16s, store cows £2 10s to £2 17s 6d, dairy cows and heifers £3 to £6, weaners 17s Gd to 245.

A Christchurch telegram says : — The satisfactory cables from London, together with N cheap freights by steamer, have caused a further hardening in wheat, and mixed parcels have changed hands ot 2s 5d and 2s 6d f.o.b.
