ROUND HILL.
June 21. — A very pleasing ceremony took place
at T&rand Hill recently, when the employees of the Ouiawera Go!d Mining Company met i.6- - gether for the purpose of presenting Mr John Ramsay, their manager, with a beautiful writing desk, suitably inscribed, as a mark of the
esteem in. which he is held. Mr Ramsay is now taking up the management of the Round Hill Gold Mining Company. Mr J. Couliug, in a few suitable words, presented the desk, and Mr Rameay feelingly responded. Mr Gunn, one of the directors of the Ourawera Conrpairy, Mr Reynolds, secretary of the Round Hill Company, and several others, made short -speeches, and all expressed their regret at losing their manager, /but hoped that he would prove as successful in his new venture as he had, done in the last. Mu-sie was then provided by Mrs M'Sobie (piaai j) and Messrs Couling and Eamsay (violins), and most * of the company gave songs, and altogether a most enjoyable evening was spent.
