The meeting held on Thursday, 26th April, I was attended by Messrs A. Kinross (in the chair), D. King, and A. Baldey. j The Surveyor-general wrote notifying that special legislation would be required to give effect to the board's recommendations re sale of Makarewa Cemetery site. A letter from Robert -Story, stating that he" could not. take up s.g. Run No. 24, Mararoa, was held over. T. J. Horan applied to purchase section 27, ' block 111, East Winton township, at an upset of £2 per acre and £2 deposit. — To be pffered at auction. The Commissioner was authorised to deal with an application from William West for a section in a reserve on the eastern bank of the Waiau. i Alexander S.taiker applied to lease p.r. No. 456 } Fiord and Wallace County.— Resolved that the land be opened as a pastoral run for a term of .21 years at a rent 'of JE2 10s' per annum. - t Permission was granted Wm. Thomson "to cut 500 fencing stakes from settlers' reserve , at South Forest,, Hill, there being nq bush on i his land; and an application from. John Wil- 11 ! son to cut 200 stakes in. Ben Bolt Bush, Ho- j konui, was similarly treated. i Wm. Smith's application to cut stakes on J 3Jora Stream was refused, and one fromjPatrick Donnellan to cut 1000 stakes in 'Forest Hill Hundred was referrd 'to the Commis- . sioner. - j It was decided to inform George Biggar, ' Croydon Village, that it is not the intention of the board to survey more land ir. his district at present, John Kynaston's offer to purchase a' cottage „ at Clifden Ferry, -formerly occupied' by W.. i" West, 1 was referred to the Commissioner. t Hector M'Neill applied for permission to- cut 500 stakes from settlers' reserve, Forest Hill Bush. — License to-be issued on payment of royalty. » . • ■" 'i D.
