ISLA BANK.

February 16. — We are having fine weather row, it being dry and more settled. The grass seed was injured by the showery weather, but is now being stacked in a good dry state. The oat crop is doing well, but a late harvest in this part of the country is inevitable. The late sown turnips are doing well, but in the case of the early sown "ones the weeds came, bufc not the turnips. Sheep dipping is now receiv;rg attention. There is much room for a piope> - inspection of artificial manures, which are much used and with considerable success. Farmyard manure is wasted by too many farmers. We have only to use our eyes to see the result. Farmyard manures will raise a crop and improve the ground if only judiciously applied. Skim ploughing is being done by many jtut now for the purpose of killing the weedg, and this will do good if followed by right treatment afterwards A displemshing sale yesterday by Mr J. Smith proved a success. Horses were sold at up to £±2, lambs 10Sj and everything of good quality went high. Mr Smith has sold his farm, and it is satisfactory to learn that he can live comfortably for the remainder of his days Angling. — Ou anglers are not abTe to do .inurh in the Wairnatuku, which is too much obstiucted with grass. The trout are there, but rpmict be taken out by many. Mr David Henderson secured 10 a few days ago.
